In the Netherlands, intersexual person were given the first gender-neutral passport

57-year-old Leonn Zeegers was born biological man, who in 2001 had a sex change operation.

Zeegers now considers himself as an intersex.

Now, through the court, Zeegers has obtained a passport with a gender symbol « X» instead of male

«M» or female «F»

The court ruled that the refusal to register a person as gender-neutral violates the right on «privacy,

self-determination and autonomy of personality»
